Kess's Ewe Lamb

With all the moorit happening here I do have one unusual lamb in the mix. Kess (left) a two year old moorit ewe. Truffles / Dugan

Bred to my ram Cider
Newton / Limerick
had this pretty little ewe lamb. Her coloring is not like the other lambs. She has the lighter moorit color around her ears upper legs and tail and her face is a grizzled brown. I don't have a better word for it,
like a grizzly bear! Unlike the Ag gene most of my sheep carry she does not have "sugar lips" nor is her fleece growing in lighter now like the others. (Click on pictures for a closer look)

Strong sturdy built lamb with soft, soft fleece she is special!

Do I just call her moorit or brown? She should have a special shetland color name. In the mean time I'm still looking for her Desert Peach...... name.

How about Ursa? It's the latin name for bear, and Ursa Major is the Bear constellation.

They're so cute!! How could you not want to cuddle them!

I think Laura's name idea is excellent! I also think she may be Ag, just a different manifestation of it. Her underparts sure look lighter!

Good, you can keep me stocked with brown fleece. She looks like a Lily to me.
