Siskin and Charlee

This is Siskin and her ram lamb. Born on Saturday April 19th. A happy, healthy normal baby!! Siskin is not very big and this guy tiped the scales at 8 pounds. I needed to help get his big head delivered and Mom and baby are fine. Altho Siskin is a might tender. The lambs have had so many flashy colors this year. One of the reasons I bought their dad Newton. Plus the soft crimpy fleece!

This last weekend I had some more good news. At 5:30 at Sunday mornings barn check, Charlee had a ram lamb all dry and ready for life and it was 19 degress that morning. Another normal lamb! Second one in a long time. This little guy is a first. I have never had such a light colored lamb born here ever. He has brown spots and his legs are black and brown. I'd say he's a calico. Sweet little wooly guy from head to tail. Wow what a relief. I still flinch when these new lambs head for a fence or wall but they stop in time not to hit it, they see!!

The blind Bella twins are getting around better each day. I've opened the first ever "School for the Blind Lamb" here at Desert Peach. They are learning to go out the door of the barn and out to a patch of grass. Little girl (I'll name them soon) is bold and is starting to use her mom like a bumper car, bounce off her side go forward and then come back get her barrings and then off in the other direction only about four feet at a time. Little boy is very leary and will lay down if he isn't sure of his surroundings. He does a lot of laying down. Their movements and actions are very normal it's just the blindness that slows them down now.
