That got her going and she didn't stop nursing till her belly was full! I watched her be born at 1 AM. Brother was already here. I'm betting this ewe is a solid moorit.
Then at 7 AM I found Kess with a single ewe, right, check out her color! This must be what some of the other lambs would look like if they didn't have their spotted faces. Rich red moorit and light fringe on the inside of her legs, on her ears and face. Please help with a color name on this ewe lamb?By the way Kess and Tess were named years apart. Wouldn't you know they would lamb within hours of each other.
After getting Kess set up in a jug I started feeding and couldn't find Charlee. I have a small old building up the hill from the barn and this is what I found. Don't they look just like Bellas lambs? Exact colors only the reverse, her ram is light splashy brown and her ewe lamb is the dark one. That makes five sets of twins with each set a ewe and a ram.
I thought I was done for the morning. Everyone was fed and the new Mom's were in their own jugs. I went back to the house for the camera to get some pictures of the new babies. Last on my list was Charlee up in the little house. WOW, Siskin was in there with her pushing to give birth to her lamb. I saw some feet so gave them a little pull to help her out and she gave birth to a ewe lamb!

Minutes later she was up and nursing. The lamb is wet and the little house doesn't have the best lighting but I'm betting this ewe is black, like in pure black. Mom is brown. Dad is brown. Grandma on Dads side is shaela. Can't wait to get her dry and in the sun. Is a sheep that has Ag and gives birth to a solid lamb an ag?
The little house was easily divided to make two jugs so little Charlee's ram would stay on his own side.
Watching lambs being born is cold, hard job...

Congratulations on all the beautiful babies! And all HEALTHY!! I could be wrong, but I thought two brown parents could ONLY have brown offspring....
Some of these babies almost look like puppies! I want one! (Just kidding) Congratulations, what a day!
Oh, goody for you if you get some solids! But that last lamb HAS to be brown-based, if both parents are. My son and husband thought one of my newborn lambs was coal black, but he was just a wet, dark brown lamb (which I knew he had to be because of his brown parents). And I would call Kess's lamb a likely Ag if she has the light fringe. I don't think I understand your final Ag question....
They are so tiny!! I somehow missed this post, so cute! And so healthy :)
